Overview

The aim of this page is to encourage collaboration among investigators and prevent publication conflicts/duplicates.

Only “final approved” templates are posted on this webpage. If you have an idea for publication, please read the DID Study Authorship Guidelines & Template and send it to Dr.Sarah Simmons. Once approved, the author is encouraged to circulate the template and give other investigators a chance for authorship.

For current ideas for publications, please click here to see the page to provide feedback.

Authorship

  • Authors should meet ICMJE authorship requirements.
  • Authorship order should be determined by first author and the writing team.
  • Jeff will be senior author in most cases.
  • The primary analyst should be listed as co-author.

Acknowledgements

  • Authors should contact Jeff to acknowledge relevant funding sources for this study.
  • Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged.

Data Handling

  • Each investigator has access to chart review data from their own site.
  • To protect privacy (sensitive data; waiver of consent), we cannot provide line level toxicology data. Therefore, all analyses involving toxicology data will be done “centrally” at UBC. Authors will discuss analyses and/or tables and figures with Jeff and with our team statisticians.

Costs

  • UBC site provides statistical analyses free of charge.
  • Although this can be negotiated, the first author is generally expected to cover publication costs. However, in some cases there may be funding in the overall study budget to offset publication costs.

  • Authors should contact Jeff to acknowledge relevant funding sources for this study.
  • Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged.
